PADI Adventure/Advanced Open Water Diver

The Adventures in Diving programme offers both the Adventure Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver certifications. If you complete any three adventure dives, you can earn your PADI Adventure Diver certification. If you complete your Deep Adventure Dive, Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive and three Adventure Dives for a total of five, you can earn your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.

Earn certification to maximum depth of 30 metres and experience Advanced aspects of diving!

The PADI Advanced Open Water course (also open to Junior Advanced Open Water Divers with a shallower depth limit) provides you with opportunties to expand your skills and experience into 5 specialty areas of diving.

Over the course of two days, usually two Sundays, you will undertake 5 speciality dives, two of which are mandatory, the other three are your choice from our range of specialty dives.

You are required to undertake the Deep and Underwater Navigation Adventure Dives.

What do I need to be able to start?

You need to be an Open Water Diver or equivalent and be aged 15 or over.  For Junior ratings you need to be 12 -14 years old.

What will I do?

After picking up you learning materials from us and working through the appropraite parts in your own time, you'll meet our instructors at our open water dive site for 2 days of diving, usually over two Sundays.
Your instructor will go through your knowledge development and breif you for the dives!
You will certainly enjoy learning advanced skills!  Everything from using a lift bag through to managing depth.

Why should I do this course?

Whilst being an Advanced Open Water Diver gives you a greater certified depth, this course is mainly designed to give you an increased level of skills that you can use to enhance your diving in various specialty areas.

What Adventure Dives are available?

The following adventure dives are available from DIVE Rutland.  Some of the types of diving we can only conduct subject to location and time of year, for example we can conduct a drift dive when we are on a TRIP.  Please chat with us about your choices and we can advise accordingly!  We can also conduct more than 5 adventure dives if you wish!

The two required dives for Advanced Open Water certification are:

What do I need?

As with all our courses we supply everything you need.  You can use your own dive equipment and you can use ours as required (for example Drysuit) to fill any gaps!  All course materials are included in the course fee!

Any other costs?

Two entry fees for open water site and personal travel costs.

What Next?

PADI Advanced Open Water Divers of at least 15 years of age can enrol in PADI Wreck or Deep Diver Specialty courses and continue on to the PADI Rescue Diver or Junior Rescue Diver course.

PADI Adventure Dives can also credit towards the corresponding PADI Specialty Diver certifications.
