Cyprus Travel Day Long Day….

11/9/2016

Picture
So lets just say this day did not quite go to plan… After a relatively quiet journey down, check in and through security at Luton,we thought we would be arriving in Larnaca with no issues.

The plane was due to leave from Luton at 14:20… all looked good we were loaded and seemingly ready to go…
Plane pushed back admittedly a few minutes late and then stopped.  Yes we had a technical fault!  After the standard Microsoft (anyone in IT will get the joke), power off and back on again, still had the fault.

Then the engineers came aboard and tried to fix it.  A part was sent for and duly arrived.  That did not work.

So it looked like we were going to be offloaded and placed back into the terminal.  Then the captain said we were going to transfer directly to another plane, as the crew had all agreed to overnight in Larnaca, otherwise it would have been a night in Luton for us all.  The only issue with this plan was the plane was not here yet.

So 16:10 that plane landed and was duly berthed alongside us… offloaded, fuelled and eventually we were transferred over.

In the meantime some obnoxious idiot had clicked his fingers and shouted at a cabin crewmember about timings and lack of information (information was duly passing from captain to us).  There was a call button above his head!

At 17:50 still waiting for the plane to leave, apparently there is an issue with the loading and balance of the plane.

12 people moved from front the plane to the back and then it balances.  So finally take off at 18:20 – Four hours after we should have done almost to the minute.

So arrived in Larnaca at 00:30 Local time…. Compensation claim time me thinks...

Lets go diving, tomorrow is another day....
