Saturday night we congratulated three new PADI Seal’s as they finished their final aqua mission before going to open water where two of our students completed their open water and drysuit certifications.
In the pool, our Seals demonstrated mastery of their skills and worked on their neutral buoyancy while playing some games afterwards. They are ready and excited to begin their speciality aqua missions during our next PADI Master seal program! We will have mini wreck divers that are able to survey without crashing in to the ‘wreck’ in the pool.
Despite the cold water at Stoney Cove, yes winter is truly upon us, our Open Water students did exceptionally well this weekend. During the mask remove and replace skill, one student lost their buoyancy but positively handled, correcting himself with his mask off, with no panic. It is truly incredible to see a new diver handling themselves so confidently in the water.
We start all of our students swimming, no kneeling in the pool. As a result, from day one they are diving and it gives them confidence with their own skills that make our days in open water easy.
