                                                PADI Divemaster Course

                                                Looking for the first step to become a PADI Professional SCUBA diver? Your adventure into the professional levels of recreational scuba diving begins with the PADI Divemaster programme. Working closely with a PADI Instructor, in this programme you expand your dive knowledge and hone your skills to the professional level. PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities, qualifying you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers. PADI Divemaster is the prerequisite certification for both the PADI Assistant Instructor and PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor and certifications.
                                                What can PADI Divemasters do?
                                                • Work at local dive centres, on live-aboard dive boats, yachts and at exotic resort locations
                                                • Assist PADI Instructors with students
                                                • Lead PADI Scuba Divers on guided dive tours
                                                • Teach and certify PADI Skin Divers
                                                • Teach PADI Discover Snorkelling programmes
                                                • Conduct PADI Scuba Review programmes for certified divers
                                                • Lead certified divers on Discover Local Diving experiences
                                                • Teach Emergency First Response programmes after successful completion of an Emergency First Response Instructor course.
                                                What will I do?
                                                • Learn dive leadership through classroom and independent study sessions
                                                • Complete water skills and stamina exercises in confined and open water
                                                • Training exercises to test organisational and problem solving abilities
                                                • An internship along with a series of practical training exercises.
                                                What course materials are required?

                                                The following materials are required unless they are unavailable in a language understood by the student diver. The majority of these are usually provided for you when you book the course.
                                                • PADI Divemaster Manual (the PADI Divemaster video must also be viewed)
                                                • PADI Instructor Manual
                                                • Recreational Dive Planner (RDP) – all three versions (Table, Wheel and eRDP-ML including associated Instructions for Use booklets)
                                                • The Encyclopaedia of Recreational Diving
                                                • Diving Knowledge Workbook
                                                • Divemaster Slates
                                                • Instructor Guides for the programmes that may be conducted by PADI Divemasters: Discover Scuba Diving, Discover Snorkelling/Skin Diver Course, Scuba Review/Discover Local Diving
                                                How long will it take?

                                                We aim to complete this course by utilising the Internship method. As a result, it can take anything from two to six months to complete. That being said, this method ensures that as a student, you get to spend time in the water with actual students in real life situations.

                                                What do I need to start?

                                                • PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or qualifying certification from another training organisation.
                                                • PADI Rescue Diver certification or qualifying certification from another training organisation.
                                                • Medical clearance signed by a physician. As a Divemaster in the UK, this will probably take the form of a medical from an HSE certified Diving Doctor. This is something was can organise.
                                                • A minimum of 30 logged dives but as a general rule, you should have sufficient diving experience to be able to focus on the students and divers under your supervision.
                                                • Minimum age : 18 years old
                                                • As you will be working with our students you agree to an Enhanced CRB check facilitated by us.
