![]() You may have seen some photos already, but Tracey and Bridget snuck off to go play with the seals! Bridget needed to get her new xDeep Zen in the water! But, how do you make sure that a wing is fitted properly? You buy it from a local dive centre of course! Before going anywhere, Bridget had Charlie help her fit the wing. ![]() Why does a wing need fitting? Surely you just pull the d-rings on the shoulder straps? Not quite. A true wing, with DIR system is one continuous piece of webbing that you adjust to fit your body. This is not a difficult task, but certainly takes a lot of hands! Since it is fit tight to your body, it does take some help getting in to and out of your wing. It may be the reason that you hear 'chicken wing' shouted at the van Interested in why Bridget dives a wing? Or Tracey a hybrid? Why not pop in to discuss our equipment choices. If you are interested in moving on to a back plate and wing configuration, we can help you look through your options and fit it once it arrives. ![]() We have to start with a massive thank you to Anglian Water for allowing us to use Rutland Water to complete some training on Sunday! We have been trying to resume training since the beginning of June and it was wonderful to finally be able to certify some new Specialist Divers! ![]() The day started off on a high note with Tracy reminding us all that it would be Sam's 100th dive. Sam has been a Dive Rutland diver since Seals and so he must have known there was that pesky '00' rule about a bikini.... Good thing Bridget was debating a wetsuit, handy to have the Fourth Element Ocean Positive Belize ready to go! ![]() There was actually a lot going on for the day. We have two specs and a boost session running! What specs you may ask? Well does Bridget's equipment give you any clues? Yes, you are seeing two clip weights, three reels, and two SMBs... Safety first! But actually, we needed to mark position for boats, and have weighted lines for running a jackstay. ![]() Lucy was ecstatic to finally be able to get in to do her drysuit course! She has been patiently waiting since before lockdown to get back to it! What she did not know was that it would come complete with a little yoga. Cat Cow anyone? The Aqualung Bali is a great wetsuit, but maybe not so great for yoga... Lucy can now claim to be a proper cold water diver that she has finished it off! ![]() Michael had a great day working through some skills in preparation for his upcoming Deep and Deco courses. No Tracey is not napping on the job, but trying to demonstrate that wonderful parachuting position. ![]() Then we had warm water diver (though maybe a cold water convert?) James completing his Search and Recovery Speciality with Sam! If they can find objects in Rutland Water, they are prepared for anywhere! Massive thank you to Tracy Adcock for all the surface cover and photos! |
