Mexico - Final

What a great trip...

We apologise for all of the blog entries going up today (on our return), but wifi was not available - or should I say it was but not cheap.

Dive Rutland would like to congratulate all of the newly qualified divers, those who completed their Adventure Diver and Advanced Open Water qualifications as well as Specialities - Enriched Air and Photography.  Well done to you all.
Thanks to Oakham School and Steve Gorman for organising such a wonderful trip that we are sure all of the students will remember for a very long time.
Lets not also forgot those instuctors who worked with the students and preparing them to complete their Open Water qualifying dives whilst in Mexico - it could not be done without you to.

We wish everyone well and see you all soon.

Mexico - Day 7

23/10/2016

Today was the last day of the trip prior to travelling home tomorrow so a none diving day.
So a few opted to travel to Chichen Itza, an ancient Mayan site a couple of hours away by coach.
Although a hot day to be walking around, it was well worth the effort.

Mexico - Day 6

23/10/2016

Four Dive day for some - including a night dive, so a hard day for some, but well worth it.
By the end of the day we had three Photography Specialities completed, Rescue Diver uplift from Junior to Adult, Advanced Open Water and three Enriched Air Specialities.
Days highlights - Moray Eels, cleaner shrimps, crabs, Rays and boxfish to name a few.

Mexico - Day 5

23/10/2016

Today was always going to be good - with a Birthday, celebrating 30 years of diving and diving the Cenotes.... yes really.
So the day started early, followed by a collection and fitting of 5mm wetsuits for all but those who brought their own.  Now that was fun watching everyone get into them (a few red knuckles afterwards)Followed by two dives (including our newly qualified divers) in the Cenotes Dos Ojos (translates as "Two Eyes") first down the Barbie line and the second the Bat Cave and yes there really was a Barbie doll on the Barbie line even if in the mouth of a plastic crocodile.

Amazing dives - but 5mm's really people...

Mexico - Day 4

23/10/2016

An early start as off to dive in Cozumel today.  The reef system being second largest to the Great Barrier Reef.
Wow, what a day of diving.. we ran out of superlatives and one of my best days diving ever.

Mexico - Day 3

23/10/2016

Day started with all the experienced divers diving a wreck (although a small one).  The fun part was the strong current with the descent being free one.  At least you could see the wreck from the surface and know what you were aiming at, followed by a reef dive.

The remaining four unqualified divers qualified later in the day and beginning to look relaxed in the water.... Brilliant diving from them with some good in water communication skills between them.  Really good to see them having fun.
