![]() Can't keep it quiet any longer... the certificate has arrived! At Dive Rutland, we encourage our staff and students to continue in their diving development. This is true from our newest student to our newest Master Instructor - Tracey Roberts. Tracey has mentored many students through from Open Water to Divemaster. Taught new assistant instructors and helped to coach and staff, instructor development courses for new instructor candidates. Her continued devotion for mentoring and coaching recreational and professional divers has been rewarded with the prestigious Master Instructor rating. What is the Master Instructor Rating?Become a PADI Staff Instructor and then been a PADI Instructor for at least two years as well as:-
In PADI's words: PADI Master Instructors are recognised as elite scuba diving educators who, through dedication and hard work, have proven to be dive industry leaders. You earn the Master Instructor rating by exemplifying what it means to be a scuba diving professional through your teaching efforts and professional conduct. Why did Tracey become an Instructor?Anyone who knows Tracey will appreciate that the word Instructor is not quite what she believes she is, coach and mentor are the words. Instructor is just the word on the certificate Interested in why Tracey become an Instructor? Have a look at the piece written back in September by Tracey Time for you?As a PADI FIVE Star Instructor Development centre we offer Assistant Instructor courses as well as a yearly Instructor Development Course. Since the writing of this blog post, Tracey has become a PADI Course Director an amazing achievement which means we now have an on site Course Director who oversees all of our professional training.
If you’re thinking about becoming an Instructor, just get in touch, we can guarantee lots of fun and the best training ![]() As part of our pledge to Mission 2020, we are constantly looking to support suppliers who are supporting environmentally friendly initiatives.. here at the dive centre we have recently moved to providing Yorkshire tea. Although we appreciate that they are currently having a few manufacturing issues... we will continue to support ![]() Christmas Eve disaster averted... Rudolph decided to go for a swim last Sunday at Stoney cove, but got a little out of his depth and had to be rescued.. not once but TWICE Even if the rescuer on the second rescue, decided to get in with no hood and then quickly surfaced with some expletives, hood on and Christmas was saved. After all if it is foggy on Christmas Eve who would lead Santa's sleigh? ![]() One of our Seals is so proud of their new school bag... made from recycled drinking sachets from Ghana, that he sent his mum in, to show us.. Great to see our younger generation taking the recycled message and Project Aware on board. ![]() Where are you spending Christmas this year? Demonstrating your all terrain vehicle made out of plastic works in Antarctica? Some people should be commended for going that extra mile in reuse of plastics. Ok, its currently a little slow, but image what uses in years to come this could have AND it had real educational value by getting their local school children involved.
Maybe our next generation will make a better job of environmental issues... If you want to miss the preamble then skip to 3:45 https://youtu.be/Ts4he6o3fRE ![]() So, thats the classroom and confined water sessions completed (yesterday), with today spent preparing for teaching demonstrations in open water on Thursday and Friday before the instructor exam on Saturday and Sunday. The confidence of our candidates has grown so MUCH all thanks to Steve and Janet Prior. ![]() On every course there is something that happens that as they "what goes on tour stays on tour" but hey... staff instructors observing the IDC we think are fair game... after all navigation is a skill taught on lets see: PADI Open water course, PADI Advanced Open Water and a few other courses! Dive Rutland is a PADI 5* IDC centre in the smallest county in the country. Being a small county it should be easy to navigate from your hotel to us, but sometimes no matter how often you drive that route (today was the sixth time!) you always find a new way in. On a positive note you have seen quite a lot of our lovely county... but maybe you need a new one of these for Christmas!
