Day was sunny, so expectations were high... but the skipper then told us he was going to hug the shoreline and after 6 - 7 miles cut across to Lundy.. umm sounded lumpy... But the sun was out... So a scenic start to our day was had.
Then it got a little lumpy but not that bad....but then we had a slight issue with one of the engines. Skipper said weed so the second engine took the load and started to run hot... but we got to Lundy after two hours... two very long hours.
After coffee, hot chocolate or a cup of tea whilst the crew fixed the engine, we dived where we were...
Gannet's Bay, as the order of the day from our youngest was SEALS as they missed them yesterday.... So in we got... three or four seals on the surface so anticipation was high... and Seals we got.. they were all very playful..
Dive 2 we moved slightly to Brazen Ward again our youngest member wanted seals as he now on a roll... this time we got Seals but the visibility slightly reduced as lots of green bits in the water. but the topography was also interesting with lots of small stuff to look at... but the Seals were the highlight.
So after four dives and four hours under water, we returned to Iffracombe ready for the long journey home...
A huge thanks to Obsession II our Boat, the crew / skipper - Stuart and Martin from Dive Rutland Club Members - Sam Adcock, Dave Carter, Rachel Perry, Tracey Roberts, Alan Starkey and Bridget Weid - The divers..
