![]() Today i started off by writing yesterdays blog with Tracey, during which Tracey made some tweaks. Then the day really started, we started to prepare for the evening pool session. This involved building Tracey's and my diving equipment, printing pool dive logs, filling them out in preparation, finding student files, loading spare equipment and packing boxes. Then onto completing one of the monthly tasks - cleaning the school masks - it only took me a short time of two hours then my hands smelt of cleaning fluids for the rest of the day! During this time a couple of customers came in and guess what the stock they wanted was right were i was sat (I was indoors because it was raining cats and dogs outside)! As part of my work experience we are completing a full asset and stock inventory which is a twice yearly job within the Dive Centre, so today (following yesterdays weight count) I did the school gloves - it really confused me for some odd reason mainly because of the numbers on the gloves not potentially matching the asset register. During this time students started to arrive for their open water theory exam and the evening training session. I assisted the students with their equipment builds, tonight was Junior night, practising buddy checks (this is something all divers do before they go diving - we need to ensure our buddy has got all of the equipment to go diving and it works!), loaded the van and all of a sudden it was 5:40 and time for the pool, so off we went. At the pool, I assisted with the offloading of the van, student preparation and then worked with John Sinclair who was running Junior Open Water, while being monitored by Tracey. By doing this I learnt what the trainee DiveMasters have to go thorough as part of their training - now talking about Trainee DiveMasters there was 2 in the pool attempting their equipment exchange assessment, it was hilarious! footage might be posted later this week. After the pool we packed up and went too the pub for a burger (this is the social bit of diving). Comments are closed.
