Our Objectives
To provide activities which are a little different for your children to do during the February 2019 Half Term… spending time on this Half Term learning about and ‘exploring’ Coral Reefs.
Who can join us?
Anyone aged 8 to 14 with an interest in the aquatic world and who wishes to learn about Coral Reefs and how to protect them
Coral Workshops
Our two workshops are interactive, engaging and positive, giving healthy foundations from which children can learn all about Coral. Through interactive and kinaesthetic activities, participation and discussion, the workshops create a lively and fun atmosphere in which to learn. All of our team are approachable and friendly, fully qualified and DBS checked.
What Will They do?
Over the two days you will learn:-
- How coral reefs function and the complex nature of life on a reef.
- Why coral reefs are so important.
- Why many coral reefs are in serious trouble.
- What you can do to prevent further decline
How
Through Classroom discussions, games, videos, Virtual reality and various crafts, even creating your own mini coral reef

What Do I need to Bring?
Lunch and any snacks. Water, lemon and orange squash will be provided during the day
Cost: £60
per workshop / per child
*If child is a Dive Rutland Club member then club discount will be applied

You do not have to attend both workshops but if you do it will result in you receiving the PADI Coral Conservation Speciality Certification, now thats something to show the friends.
Other Activities Available during Half Term:-
Snorkelling
During your time with us you will learn
- How to choose, adjust and use snorkelling equipment.
- Basic safety guidelines for being in and around the water.
- Snorkeling techniques including
- checking buoyancy
- surface swimming
- clearing water from your snorkel; and
- performing effortless surface dives.
- Basic hand signal communication at the surface and underwater
