How I came into Diving

I began diving in 2017. Initially I undertook my open water course with Dive Rutland after finding them in my local area and instantly I fell in love with the sport. I could not get enough and after achieving my certification just wanted to do more and more and explore more of the underwater world. I continued to complete more courses as well as joining the club so I could participate in more diving both locally and throughout the U.K. I couldn’t get enough and every opportunity I had I could be found either at the pool practicing my own skills, with the club or just at the dive shop itself lending a helping hand and getting involved.
My Diving Goals and Interests
Recently my diving goals and interests have begun to move towards the area of technical diving and I have completed my DECO 40 course which has started me off on my path towards becoming a more experienced diver. I have hopes to achieve more experience in this realm and complete further courses to develop and hone my skills in this area.
My favourite type of diving would have to be wreck diving. For me it is an opportunity to not only dive on an incredible location but also to learn about the history each wreck brings with it which is often fascinating in itself.
My long-term goal and place I would love to dive is on the HMS Perseus a sunken submarine in the Ionian Sea, she sits at a depth of 52 metres and is mostly intact and in good condition. Further locations that are on my bucket list of dive sites would be Truuk Lagoon, Scapa Flow and a bit of a crazy one but I would love to dive with Narwhals or as they are known by some the unicorns of the sea.

My Qualifications
I have now achieved my assistant instructor qualification and teach with the very same team who taught me how to dive. I hope to achieve my instructor qualification in the not too distant future and continue to inspire and teach others about the underwater world with the very team that inspired me on my journey.
